Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

Share Your Medication Schedule

Keeping up with your daily medicines is a critical part of managing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

It’s important to inform your close family members or friends about your care. And in case of an emergency, it’s important that they know what medications you take and when you take them.

Track when you took your last dose and when the next one is due using these tips:

  • Get organized. Use a daily calendar and write down the medications you need to take every day and the times you need to take them. Also include any medicines that you use as needed. Keep the calendar with your medicine and cross off every dose as you take it.

  • Keep a master list. To go along with your weekly calendar, you’ll need a complete list of all your medicines. This list should include the name of each drug, what it’s used for, what it looks like, the date you started it, the provider who prescribed it, the amount you take, and any special instructions. Store one copy of the master list with your weekly calendar and carry the other in your wallet or purse.

By keeping a medication schedule and sharing it with your loved ones, you can create a plan for success.
